Inspira- tion behind design

I liked idiomatic expressions since I was very young. I’ve been admonished by people to “let sleeping dogs lie”, and told far too often to “go fly a kite”... (I suppose, as a child, I was too curious for my own good.) One of the things that I found amusing with idioms is its depth of meaning. It has multiple layers. On the surface, the words are a description. Then, there is the generally accepted meaning of the phrase. And lastly, the story behind the idiom, its origins.

The theme, Back to Square One, is an idea I had stored in my mind for quite a few years. Since the site is going to be completely redone to bring it up to web standards, I think it is fitting that I use the theme now. Fundamentally, going back to the basics implies starting from just the essentials. I tried to incorporates that idea in the design by keeping it simple. A layout without fuss. Just clean lines with a hint of finer detailing. I’ve also started to apply what I’ve recently learned of typography into this. Overall I feel that I've made some improvements.
